Big Kid Studios is seeking an experienced woodworker/carpenter to join our growing team of designers, makers, and craftspeople. We create custom furniture, interiors, and one-of-a-kind architectural pieces with a focus on exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and quality materials.
We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated individual who enjoys both independent work and collaboration. The ideal candidate is passionate about woodworking, detail-oriented, adaptable, and excited to help bring unique projects to life from concept to installation.
Responsibilities:
-Work with a variety of hardwoods and understand their characteristics and applications
-Execute fine joinery, millwork, and furniture construction using both machinery and hand tools
-Operate woodworking equipment safely and efficiently
-Apply finishes including oils, stains, spray finishes, and epoxies
-Assist with the installation of completed projects on-site
-Collaborate with designers, fabricators, and project managers throughout production
-Manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and meeting deadlines
-Participate in shop organization, maintenance, and workflow improvements
-Perform occasional outdoor work and material handling as needed
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 2 years professional woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, or furniture-making experience
-Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and shop practices
-Ability to read shop drawings and follow project specifications
-Experience with furniture construction, custom millwork, or architectural woodworking preferred
-Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
-Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work
-Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
-Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
-Valid driver's license preferred
-Ability to lift and move materials safely
-Drug screening required
-Skills assessment will be part of the interview process
