Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martins best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. Controls Engineering is an organization within FBM that facilitates control of the missile through servo actuators, gas hydraulic systems and small rocket motors.

We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for a Project Engineer in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will assist Product Owners and Engineering Managers with daytoday activities, acting as a trusted liaison that aligns individual efforts with broader team objectives. You will maintain and regularly update productteam timelines, flagging potential risks and recommending corrective actions to keep delivery on schedule. By identifying, tracking, and communicating dependencies between teams, you will proactively surface obstacles and promote transparency across product groups. Participation in technical exchange meetings, working groups, and staff forums will be expected, with a responsibility to capture outcomes and followup actions.

A significant portion of your work will involve creating, refreshing, and organizing documentation, data collections, and presentation decks, ensuring that all metrics are current and accurately reported. You will develop and maintain key performance indicators for the program, generating regular status reports and dashboards for leadership review. When special assignments or adhoc projects arise, you will execute them with a datadriven, analytical approach, always seeking to solve complex problems and improve existing processes. Throughout, you will recommend enhancements to tools, workflows, and communication practices that increase efficiency and alignment across the program Demonstrated experience with project management
Practical knowledge of project management tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
3+ years Technical experience or background Provide support to Product Owners and Engineering Managers, working under very general supervision in support of larger team goals
Support schedules/timelines for product team execution
Help coordinate inter-team dependencies and drive transparency across product teams, anticipating obstacles to performance
Support and participate in working groups and technical exchange meetings
Support staff meetings, documentation, data collection or inputs for presentations, produce/update presentations, track/provide/maintain metrics, work special assignments or ad hoc tasks, and other duties as assigned
Apply critical thinking and initiative to help address tasks and requirements for the entire program in support of program goals
