Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Maintenence Millwright for our Calgary Paper plant.
SCOPE OF POSITION
Works safely and keeps work area clean. To maintain all plant production and auxiliary equipment in good working condition.
Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment, as directed by Lead Hand.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Work cooperatively in a team with all other employees
- Daily communication with Lead Hand, other maintenance personnel, department supervisors and operators.
- Occasional contact with employees of other departments regarding the repair and maintenance of production machinery
- Occasional contact with contractors and suppliers regarding maintenance projects
FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Housekeeping of maintenance
- Housekeeping of maintenance ships and maintenance storage areas
- Clean up equipment after performing maintenance work
- Perform preventative maintenance work requests, as well as observation of other areas which may present a possible breakdown situation
- Complete monthly fire extinguisher survey
- Install new equipment as instructed
- Clean extrusion screws and dies and necessary
- Align equipment rollers, both horizontally and for parallel
- Align motor shaft couplings
- Prepare rigging for equipment installation/removal
- Responsible to follow safe work procedures
- Responsible to lock out equipment before making adjustments or working on equipment
- Report unsafe work conditions or equipment to Lead Hand
- Responsible for tracking spare parts usage
- General maintenance of forlklift trucks
- Replace rubber and anilox rollers on presses
- General maintenance/troubleshooting of hydraulic equipment
- General maintenance/troubleshooting of pneumatic equipment
- Replace belts on conveyers and other driven equipment
- Service Continu bars as required
- Check bearings in rollers for excessive wear
- St up rollers and bars in press treater station
- Re-calibrate print station mechanisms on press
- Perform steel fabrication as directed
- Itemize parts required to complete particular jobs
- Perform visual inspections periodically of all plant services
- Interact constructively with service and maintenance
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Provincial Journeyman Millwright Ticket
- Greater consideration will be given to individuals who possess a dual ticket
SKILLS
- Mechanical Aptitude
- 3-5 years' experience
- Study of company operating and procedural manuals
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $48.26 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
