Job Description This role focuses on producing high-quality construction drawings and documentation for public transportation and other public projects using Revit and complementary design software. You will contribute across all project phases, from schematic design and design development through construction documentation and construction administration, while collaborating closely with project leads, clients, and multidisciplinary teams. - Produce detailed construction drawings and documentation using Revit for a variety of public transportation and public sector projects.
- Use multiple design and production tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation, to support project delivery.
- Participate in all phases of project development, including schematic design, design development, construction drawings, construction documentation, and construction administration, as needed.
- Report directly to the Project Lead and provide regular updates on design progress, technical issues, and project milestones.
- Develop and refine architectural designs that demonstrate a strong understanding of how buildings are assembled and detailed.
- Create and coordinate construction documents (CDs), including plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Support institutional, educational, and public transportation projects by producing high-quality production drawings and technical details.
- Prepare strong 3D presentations and visual materials to communicate design intent to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Collaborate with public agencies and clients, including transportation authorities and other public entities, to coordinate project requirements and design solutions.
- Travel to job sites in New Jersey and New York to conduct field visits, observe construction, and support construction administration activities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members in an open studio environment, sharing ideas and problem-solving collaboratively.
- Review and incorporate redlines and feedback into construction drawings and design documents accurately and efficiently.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring peers, sharing knowledge, and participating in design discussions.
- Work independently and proactively manage your tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience working in an architectural office.
- Strong public project experience, including work on K12, housing, public agencies, transportation authorities, and similar clients.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for production of construction drawings and documentation.
- Proficiency in Revit and Revit Architecture for design development and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in MicroStation or willingness and ability to work in a multi-platform environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, for presentations and visual communication.
- Strong 3D presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling visualizations and presentations.
- Strong production and technical skills, including a solid understanding of building systems and how buildings come together.
- Demonstrated experience producing complete construction drawings and construction documentation for institutional, educational, and public transportation projects.
- Ability to develop detailed drawings, technical details, and construction documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Motivated, independent, and accurate problem solver with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a collaborative studio environment and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Degree in Architecture.
- Experience working with public agencies such as school construction authorities, housing authorities, transportation agencies, and port authorities.
- Experience supporting construction administration activities, including responding to field conditions and contractor inquiries.
- LEED AP or GGP certification preferred.
- Interest in sustainability and green building practices.
- Desire to grow into a role managing your own projects and leading teams.
- Interest in obtaining architectural licensure, with a willingness to engage in structured goal-setting and professional development.
- Comfort working across multiple software platforms and adapting to evolving tools and workflows.
