Assistant Project Manager
Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various construction projects. Your responsibilities will include communicating with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders, monitoring project progress, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. You will also ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies while assisting in change order management, cost control, and financial tracking. Additionally, you will participate in site inspections and support the Project Manager in project closeout activities.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose solutions to mitigate delays.
  • Maintain project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and compliance records.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Assist in change order management, cost control, and financial tracking.
  • Participate in site inspections and provide updates on construction activities.
  • Support the Project Manager in project closeout activities, including final inspections and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in construction project management, assistant project management, project engineer, or a similar role (residential, commercial, or industrial)
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Work Environment

The role is based in the Fort Wayne, IN office, with very minimal travel required. You can expect to work primarily in an office setting, with occasional site visits a couple of times per month. The schedule is Monday-Friday, working 45-50 hours per week. This position provides opportunities for advancement into project management, leadership, and specialty roles. You will work cross-functionally with other Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
