Job DescriptionJob Description
Seeking a senior electrical architect to stand up, develop, govern, and continuously evolve the electrical data center design for OCI . You will be responsible for the global strategic design and product level innovation driving speed to market and high reliability. The ideal candidate has deep experience and expertise working with medium voltage and low voltage distribution, optimizing power design within the data center, creating solutions to meet the evolving rack demands, and building highly resilient designs. The role will have strategic design ownership and will drive solutions that deliver speed to market, resiliency, and value.
Responsibilities
What youll do
+ Architecture and standards
+ Develop the reference architectures for MV/LV distribution globally for OCI .
+ Establish standards for all electrical equipment: generators (turbines/reciprocating engines), switchgear, UPS topologies, and BESS integration.
+ Establish and ensure designs meet or exceed reliability goals (e.g., N+1/2N) and fault tolerance requirements.
+ Drive innovation in the electrical design that delivers higher reliability and speed of construction.
+ Design, delivery, and operations
+ Provide technical leadership from concept to commissioning (L1-L5), including integrated systems testing.
+ Develop strategic level one-line diagrams, protection scheme standards, SCADA / EMS architectures, and equipment specifications (transformers, switchgear, breakers).
+ Efficiency and cost optimization
+ Drive total cost of ownership (capex/opex) reductions via optimized topologies, demand charge reduction.
+ Set and deliver targets for electrical efficiency, losses, and system availability; implement data-driven performance monitoring.
+ Vendor and industry engagement
+ Lead RFIs/RFPs and technical evaluations for OEMs (switchgear, transformers, generators, BESS , relays) and EPCs.
+ Track standards and emerging tech and build adoption roadmaps
What youll bring
+ 12+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering for mission-critical facilities or utilities.
+ Proven delivery of MV/LV distribution for large-scale data centers or similar.
+ Proficiency with power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, harmonics), protection coordination, and relay testing.
+ Demonstrated vendor/ OEM network; experience leading RFx, technical evaluations, and commissioning.
+ Effective communication skills with
