OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a motivated and passionate Traffic Engineer in Central Florida. We are looking for an individual to provide top quality transportation planning and traffic engineering studies, and ultimately achieve the designation of a Florida Professional Engineer (PE). The prospective candidate will exercise engineering judgement under the guidance and supervision of a senior Florida PE and take pride in their work products.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct transportation analysis, plans preparation and report writing
  • Participate in meetings, including preparing presentations and public outreach materials
  • Conduct site visits and collect field data
  • Other duties as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in civil engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain
  • 3-6 years of experience in conducting traffic operational and safety analyses, plans preparation and report writing
  • Solid understanding of traffic flow theory and transportation systems analysis
  • Experience in one or more of the following topic areas: field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, transportation planning, travel demand modeling, traffic and safety studies
  • Experience with the following software tools, or similar: HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Corsim, other micro/macro simulation tools, AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenRoads
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
