Manufacturing Project Engineer – Electrical Systems
Location: Onsite Manufacturing Environment
Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic and International – Canada & Mexico)

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Project Engineer to support equipment installation, facility upgrades, and manufacturing projects within a fast-paced production environment.
- Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Develop project scopes of work, bid packages, and detailed project specifications.
- Review technical drawings and engineering documentation, providing feedback and recommending design improvements.
- Evaluate industrial electrical power systems and infrastructure requirements.
- Ensure equipment and facility compliance with applicable local, state, and national electrical and safety codes.
- Partner with third-party safety compliance contractors to support project execution and validation.
- Evaluate power distribution systems, breaker sizing, amp draw calculations, SCCR requirements, and panel loading.
- Specify and confirm electrical components for manufacturing and industrial equipment.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, construction management, equipment suppliers, and contractors to achieve project milestones.
- Coordinate equipment installation activities in both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing environments.
- Supervise contractors and installation activities to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Work closely with skilled trades, affiliate companies, equipment manufacturers, and engineering teams during project implementation.
- Identify project risks and develop countermeasures to prevent delays and support successful project completion.
- Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strong communication and project documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Trade Certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience developing bid specifications and managing contractor negotiations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial power distribution and electrical system design.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Previous Toyota manufacturing or project experience.
- Automotive paint process experience.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- Ability to understand and calculate utility costs.
- Understanding of PLC operation and troubleshooting, including:
- Toyopuc
- Omron
- Allen-Bradley
- Understanding of industrial communication networks, including:
- FLNet
- Ethernet/IP
- Understanding of OT/IT networking concepts.
- NFPA 70E and NFPA 77 knowledge.
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification.
- 100% onsite manufacturing environment.
- Local candidates strongly preferred.
- Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support project activities at manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
