Hours : Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:40 PM

Powder Coat Painters are responsible for the complete painting process of sheet metal. This position requires knowledge of powder painting, maintenance of powder coat equipment, and how to read blueprints and drawings.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.   • Applying powder paint to sheet metal to achieve painted finish to DMG MORI specifications
  • Reading blueprints and drawings to determine correct paint application
  • Determining the appropriate preparation of surfaces and application of paint
  • Setting up all equipment necessary for the application of powder paint
  • Inspecting quality of finish for appearance and paint adhesion
  • Following maintenance procedures for all equipment in paint which includes but is not limited to maintaining correct chemical balances, wash systems, oven, paint booth and paint guns
  • Assisting other teams as needed when paint tasks are minimal
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-5 years powder painting experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Fundamental computer operation skills
  • Ability to occasionally work overtime
  • Preferred requirement – certified to operate a forklift or forklift experience

Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment (welding, cutting, forming, painting, assembly, machining, quality control facility) at DMG MORI Manufacturing. Exposure to possible hazards may include sharp edges, noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

Physical Demands :

Frequent: standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling, repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements, operating power equipment and hand tools

Periodic: utilizing a computer
