Construction Management Intern

Play an integral role in supporting the delivery of construction activities across projects that contribute to critical energy, chemicals, and resources infrastructure. You will gain hands-on exposure to how complex projects are planned, coordinated, and executed, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and safety-focused environment. Purpose of the role
Play an integral role in learning and supporting construction management processes through structured, hands-on experience. You will develop an understanding of how projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual and organizational requirements. This role exists to build early-career capability by combining academic knowledge with practical experience across construction operations and project coordination.

You will be responsible for
You will support construction teams while developing your technical and professional skills in a structured and supervised environment. Responsibilities include\:

  • Assisting with day-to-day construction management activities, supporting planning, coordination, and execution tasks across the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the preparation and organization of project documentation, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and alignment with established procedures
  • Observing and contributing to field and office activities to develop an understanding of construction workflows, safety practices, and project delivery expectations
  • Coordinating with team members and stakeholders to gather information and support effective communication across project teams
  • Learning to interpret basic project requirements, including schedules, plans, and specifications, under guidance from experienced professionals
  • Supporting compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards by participating in safety initiatives and adhering to site protocols
  • Developing familiarity with construction systems, tools, and processes used to manage project execution
  • Participating in team meetings and providing updates on assigned tasks while seeking feedback and guidance from supervisors
  • Applying structured processes and defined procedures to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently

You bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a strong foundation in academic and interpersonal skills that support your development in a professional construction environment.

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, with limited or no practical industry experience
  • A strong interest in construction project delivery and the desire to build a career within the energy, infrastructure, or resources sectors
  • Basic understanding of construction or engineering principles gained through academic coursework
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and complete tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to share information clearly with peers and supervisors
  • A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to work as part of a team and learn from experienced professionals
  • Developing problem-solving skills, with the ability to ask questions and seek guidance in unfamiliar situations
  • Basic organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks
