Your Role:

  • Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and industry standards, engineering formulas, and experience.
  • Provide construction support including review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, etc.
  • Produce sketches to be incorporated in models/drawings by designers/drafters.
  • Develop construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
  • Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
  • Work with lead engineers to scope out projects and establish project objectives.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, etc.
  • Develop engineering estimates and assist with proposal development.
  • Manage discipline schedules and deliverables.
  • May serve as Project Engineer and as a designated client contact on smaller, less complex projects.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-9 years of design experience in EPC or consulting industry preferred.
  • Active P.Eng. status in British Columbia and/or Alberta.
  • Be familiar with structural analysis software SFrame, STAAD, RISA, SAP2000.
  • Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices.
  • Experience with site grading and roadway design is an asset for this position.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive client and project team relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000 per year. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
