Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing daily maintenance operations and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. This includes mobile and stationary equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, balers, and more.

This role assists with planning and scheduling maintenance activities, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and minimizing equipment downtime. The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to be hands-on, working alongside mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment, support complex breakdowns, and provide technical guidance to help develop the team's skills and improve overall maintenance performance.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day maintenance activities across the company.
  • Oversee, manage, and direct all Maintenance staff by effectively delegating any maintenance issues to the right skilled individuals.
  • Assist in creating, implementing, and maintaining an up-to-date Preventive Maintenance Plans for all company equipment and facilities.
  • Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, oversee and actively participate in equipment repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Fulfil all facility maintenance requests in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Conduct monthly inventory.
  • Assess current maintenance work processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Utilize data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems.
  • Complete and submit Work Orders, ensuring all essential information is included.
  • Train and mentor maintenance personnel on maintenance, fabrication, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
  • Record and tracking daily progress/error reports.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and order new materials as needed.
  • Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol.
  • Complete mandatory weekly/monthly or as-needed safety trainings.
Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Must display strong motivation and resourcefulness; be self-motivated.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Willing to work different shifts and travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 5-7 years of experience of Maintenance management preferred.
  • Must have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of mobile heavy off-road equipment within heavy industrial, manufacturing, and/or recycling environments.
  • A college degree in a related field (Business / Management / Logistics) is a plus.
