Position Title Estimator FLSA Status Exempt Reports To Director of Construction Position SummaryAmeritech Facility Services is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects including tenant improvements renovations remodels maintenance projects and facility upgrades The Estimator will work closely with customers subcontractors suppliers and internal teams to develop project budgets prepare proposals and support projects from bidding through completion Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview blueprints specifications drawings and scope documents to develop accurate project estimatesPrepare detailed cost estimates budgets and written proposals for commercial construction projectsConduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and verify project scope requirementsCommunicate with customers project managers subcontractors and vendors to ensure a complete understanding of project requirementsSolicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliersNegotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to maximize project profitability while maintaining quality standardsDevelop estimates for labor materials equipment subcontractor services permits and other project costsReview subcontractor proposals for completeness and compliance with project requirementsUtilize estimating software and company systems to prepare and maintain estimatesAssist with material procurement purchase orders and delivery coordination as neededPrepare and price change orders scope revisions and project modificationsObtain and review specifications cut sheets and product information for owner selected materials fixtures and equipmentIdentify long lead materials and communicate potential schedule impactsSupport project teams by providing cost analysis and resolving pricing related questions during project executionMaintain current pricing information and historical cost data within estimating systemsPerform post project reviews to evaluate estimate accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvementParticipate in bid walks pre construction meetings and project turnover meetings as requiredQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction tenant improvements renovations facility maintenance or related projects preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings specifications and contract documentsStrong understanding of commercial construction methods materials and subcontractor tradesExperience with estimating software and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong analytical organizational and problem solving skillsExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyDetail oriented with a high level of accuracyPhysical RequirementsAbility to travel to project sites as neededAbility to walk active construction sites and perform site evaluationsAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 poundsWork EnvironmentThis position operates in both an office setting and active construction environments Travel to customer and project sites is required as needed
