Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, pool areas, exterior grounds, and back-of-house areas.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, locks, televisions, and mechanical systems.
Complete guest room maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM schedules, and work order documentation.
Assist with room inspections to ensure guestrooms meet Marriott quality standards.
Ensure hotel equipment is operating efficiently to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
Life Safety & Compliance
Maintain and monitor all life safety systems including fire alarm panels, sprinklers, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and elevator systems.
Respond immediately to emergency situations involving guest or building safety.
Ensure compliance with Marriott standards, OSHA guidelines, health department requirements, and local building codes.
Coordinate required vendor inspections and certifications.
Assist during emergency situations including severe weather, fire alarms, power outages, water leaks, and equipment failures.
Guest Service Expectations
Respond to guest concerns professionally and with a sense of urgency.
Minimize guest disruption during repairs and maintenance activities.
Maintain a positive, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Support all departments when operational assistance is needed.
Vendor & Project Coordination
Work with approved vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and inspections.
Assist leadership with property improvement projects and renovations.
Monitor vendor work to ensure completion meets hotel standards.
Maintain organized inventories of tools, supplies, and maintenance equipment.
Communicate supply needs and assist with ordering maintenance materials.
Utilize Ordering, PO & Invoicing Systems
Property Appearance & Asset Protection
Maintain the overall appearance and condition of the hotel property.
Identify repair needs proactively before they impact guests or operations.
Assist with painting, drywall repair, flooring repairs, furniture repairs, and exterior upkeep.
Monitor utility usage and assist in energy conservation efforts.
Protect hotel assets by properly maintaining equipment and facilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
Previous Hotel experience required.
Must have a Pool Operator Certification.
Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
Must be able to obtain required work cards, and non-gaming registration as required by the local jurisdiction.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must pass any and all required drug and background checks.
