Job Overview
As a key member of our Homes division, you will help build exceptional, high-end custom homes that exemplify superior craftsmanship and design. This position requires a passion for excellence and a proven track record in building sophisticated residential projects.
As the Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of construction on-site, including labor, materials, equipment, safety, and subcontractors. You will maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and partners, addressing issues proactively, and ensuring projects stay on track. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will ensure that each home is completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, labor, materials, and equipment to maintain efficient jobsite operations.
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules and look-ahead plans to drive consistent progress that aligns with the project master schedule.
- Monitor daily jobsite activities and proactively identify and resolve issues impacting schedule, safety, or quality.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors and all other project stakeholders.
- Conduct and lead jobsite meetings, including subcontractor coordination and safety meetings.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Maintain accurate and timely jobsite documentation, including daily reports and field updates.
- Support project closeout by ensuring completion of punch lists and final inspections.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- 8+ years in construction management or a supervisory role, specializing in high-end custom residential projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction process, with a focus on premium residential projects, from groundbreaking to final finishes.
- Proficiency reading architectural plans and ensuring accurate execution.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Adept at anticipating and resolving issues specific to custom builds, keeping projects on track.
- Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Knowledge of residential construction building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work with construction software such as Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and MS Project preferred.
