JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position processes emergency calls for assistance in an expeditious and accurate manner to best serve the needs of the citizens of Nashua; directs incoming calls to appropriate departments; gives information and directions to the public; maintains required logs; and monitors alert systems. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time rotating shift position 10-hour days, 14-hour nights days off in between, and is part of IAFF Local #789. There are mandatory overtime requirements when shift coverage is needed. The position has a starting annual rate not to exceed $62,782

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants with previous emergency communications experience preferred
  • Must have the ability to perform all job functions under emergency conditions
  • Capable of operating various computer equipment, electronic business equipment, and municipal fire alarm system
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-backs in a timely manner
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or certified equivalent
