Assistant Project Manager Architecture
Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a self-starting, enthusiastic, and technically proficient Assistant Project Manager to contribute to the design and production of a diverse range of building types, including governmental, educational, and healthcare facilities. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and supervise the production of design and contract documents for a variety of building types, including governmental, educational, and healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate with architectural and production staff to meet project goals, objectives, and schedules.
  • Assist in project management tasks, helping to ensure quality and timely delivery of all project deliverables.
  • Support the management of relationships with design consultants, owner representatives, public officials, and review authorities.
  • Assist with quality assurance reviews of project documents to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards and codes.
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle, with the ability to help take projects from initial concept through completion and construction documentation.
  • Apply strong understanding of how buildings are put together, particularly in public works, governmental, educational, higher education, healthcare, courthouse, and public safety projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to integrate design intent, technical requirements, and client needs into cohesive, buildable solutions.
  • Use Revit and AutoCAD extensively for architectural production, modeling, and documentation.
  • Prepare and contribute to presentations, including sketches and visual materials, to effectively communicate and sell design ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities, including continuing education sessions and lunch-and-learn programs.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural design and production, with a total target range of approximately 58 years of architectural production experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience with municipal and public sector projects and/or multi-family projects.
  • Strong background in architectural production, including the ability to take projects from start through detailed documentation.
  • Solid understanding of how to assemble a building, including systems and details relevant to public works, governmental, educational, higher education, healthcare, courthouse, and public safety facilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit, with the ability to work in a production-focused role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for design and documentation tasks.
  • Exceptional design and technical abilities, with strong spatial and environmental design sensibility.
  • Strong sketching and freehand drawing skills, including the ability to produce quick sketches to convey and sell design ideas effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate and deliver effective presentations.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preference for candidates who are on track to obtain architectural licensure.
  • Experience working on governmental buildings such as courthouses, athletic facilities, public safety, institutional, and emergency service facilities.
  • Experience with educational facilities, including K12 and higher education academic and administrative buildings.
  • Experience with healthcare projects, particularly hospitals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and maintain quality under deadlines.
  • A proactive, go-getter mentality and a strong desire for professional growth and advancement.
  • Comfort presenting ideas to clients, consultants, and public agencies.
  • Interest in participating in continuing education, including lunch-and-learn sessions and other professional development opportunities.
Work Environment

You will join a growing architectural firm of approximately 5060 employees, including a dedicated architecture department of about 2325 team members and a smaller, expanding satellite office. The work culture is relaxed, collaborative, and strongly focused on employee well-being, with a clear philosophy that work is an important part of life but not your entire life. The standard expectation is to work in the office 5 days per week for a total of 40 hours, with flexibility available and earned over time based on performance and trust. Employees rarely work late, and it is very uncommon for staff to take work home. The firm offers flexible daily start times, typically between 8:009:00 a.m., with corresponding end times between 5:006:00 p.m. During the summer, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, the schedule shifts to Summer Fridays, with hours from Monday through Thursday generally 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The environment supports ongoing learning through weekly lunch-and-learn sessions every Wednesday and other continuing education opportunities. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boca Raton, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $45.67/hr.
