Job Description
Quality Control Engineer
Our client, a precast/prestressed concrete manufacturer
located near Wichita Kansas, is seeking a qualified Quality Control Engineer to join their team.
Description:
As a Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that
all precast/prestressed concrete products meet industry, regulatory, and project-specific
standards. This role involves overseeing quality control procedures, conducting material and
product inspections, ensuring compliance with PCI and ASTM standards, and maintaining
accurate documentation of quality data. You will also work closely with design engineers to
verify that all products meet structural requirements before and after production. With 5+ years
of experience in quality control and a PCI Level 3 certification, you will analyze quality metrics,
coordinate with production teams, and implement best practices to maintain product consistency
and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure compliance with PCI, ASTM,
and project specifications.
Work closely with design engineers to confirm that all products meet structural
requirements and project specifications.
Conduct and oversee material and product testing, including concrete slump, air content,
strength testing, and aggregate gradation analysis.
Review blueprints and specifications to verify product compliance and identify potential
quality concerns.
Inspect raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure adherence to
quality standards.
Monitor batch plant operations to ensure proper mix proportions and material
consistency.
Maintain and update the Quality System Manual (QSM) to reflect current quality control
practices and regulatory requirements.
Lead PCI audits and manage necessary documentation to ensure industry compliance.
Analyze quality control data and trends to identify potential issues and recommend
corrective actions.
Train and mentor Quality Control Technicians on testing methods, reporting procedures,
and industry standards.
Collaborate with field service teams to assess product performance and address quality
concerns at job sites.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework
in concrete technology, construction, or quality control preferred.
PCI Level 3 certification required.
5+ years of experience in quality control within the precast concrete industry.
Strong knowledge of concrete testing procedures, mix properties, and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and test reports.
Proficiency in data collection, reporting, and quality analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities to coordinate with production, quality
teams, and design engineers.
