Job Description

AECOM is seeking a CAD Specialist III in Baton Rouge, LA for a civil/structural technical role working with engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within the Dams, Levees, Channels, Pump Stations and Water Resources markets. Candidates can expect a wide variety of project challenges focused on heavy civil grading for large levees, dams, access roads and stormwater management.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Works under limited supervision.
  • Performs both routine and non-routine, complex drafting assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
  • Uses applications to scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Receives little instruction on daily work and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Ability to manage medium size projects with limited guidance for generating 3D models and developing project sheets from generated models.
  • A high understanding of folder structure setup and use of Client CAD standards for production purposes is priority.
  • The willingness to help junior team members with meeting client standards for project completion. Knowledge of structural steel structures, steel flood gates, piles (concrete, steel, & auger), Pile connections, pile cap foundations, equipment foundations, concrete flood structures, flood walls, and pump station structures.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of AutoCAD and MicroStation experience
  • 5+ years of CAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AUTODESK Revit Structural, Autodesk Advanced Steel, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu.
