Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $48,438.00. - $55.358.00 Full Salary Range: $42,072.00. - $75,287.00 Annually

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm "OR"

Tuesday - Friday 6:30am -5:00pm

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to support the maintenance and construction of City and State stormwater systems. You'll be a key part of a crew responsible for ensuring Greensboro's infrastructure is reliable, safe, and compliant with environmental and public safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy power-driven equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and loaders.

• Perform construction and maintenance work on roads, drainage systems, and rights-of-way.

• Read and interpret maps, operating manuals, and safety procedures.

• Follow work orders and route maps to complete daily assignments.

• Identify and report potential safety hazards or unsafe conditions on worksites.

• Support stormwater repair and cleanup operations during weather-related emergencies.

• Adapt to changing priorities and work conditions, including inclement weather or emergency response.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED, with 1+ years experience operating heavy equipment - i.e., paver, backhoes, front end loader, excavator, and/or skid steers

• No High School Diploma/GED, with 5-7 years experience operating heavy equipment - i.e., paver, backhoes, front end loader, excavator, and/or skid steers

• Valid driver's license

• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License

• ("OR" the ability to obtain a tanker endorsement within 120 days of employment).

• If assigned to the Storm Water Division-- * Additional Requirements Needed

• Miner Certification

• ("OR' the ability to obtain within one year of the hire date)

• A forklift operator's license is required if operating a forklift

• ('OR" the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire date) ,

Preferred Qualifications:

• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement
