Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will focus on Engineered-to-Order (ETO) design projects by releasing customizations to manufacturing through design work, bills of material, and engineering change orders. The role requires a strong understanding of UPS and Power Switching and Distribution Products for Data Centers and requires complex problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and managing tasks to meet project goals and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Customize existing products to meet customer requirements and specifications by identifying any new electrical components and designing new assemblies and electrical circuits.
  • Design and release drawings and documentation through the Engineering Change Order process to the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Identify and implement potential VAVE opportunities.
  • Support Vertiv Services in resolving field issues or field modifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Interdisciplinary Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience is required
  • Possess a strong fundamental knowledge in electrical engineering with proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a member of team.
  • Must be detail oriented, have good planning and organization, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferred CREO and/or SolidEdge.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of 3-phase transformers, power conversion, and related calculations.
  • Proficient in NEC requirements, including but not limited to wire sizing, bend radius, and conduit sizing.
  • Well-versed in circuit breakers, relays, batteries, and circuit monitoring equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and/or redlining schematics and single-line diagrams.
  • Preferred experience with PLM systems (BOM and Engineering Change Order management)
  • Preferred experience or knowledge on UPS, Static Switches and/or Power Distribution products.
  • Preferred experience with component selection such as breakers, fuses, relays, etc.
  • Preferred experience with UL requirements.
