There are 3 RCI Throughput initiatives currently in scoping with our clients EPMO team. The scoping exercises are aimed at determining what technical enhancements we will implement for the organization. Here is an overview of the initiatives below. The PM will be responsible for confirming technical build requirements, resources requirements, project costs once the scoping exercises are complete as well as implementations. The resource will be working with IT PMO and EPMO team members supporting the client. There are 11 PMs in the IT PMO with whom they will work. One additional item to note is project estimation experience would also be ideal. RCI Throughput Length of Stay: Opportunity to promote appropriate progression of care, appropriate level of care, and timely discharges by optimizing care team members working collaboratively and communicating effectively in a standardized, interdisciplinary forum to plan care priorities, estimated date of discharge, and discuss discharge plans, barriers to discharge, and patient goals. A team of stakeholders is participating in the IHI Hospital Flow program. This program includes a framework for improvement of throughput and patient flow within a health system. A gap analysis of this framework to the client's current state is in progress. This will inform tactics. RCI Throughput - Denials / UM: There is an opportunity to reduce Commercial PPO inpatient medical necessity denial rate by requiring physician review of IP medical necessity criteria upon admission and enhancing the UM model to support a robust medical necessity review process. Physician review of IP medical necessity criteria for all Commercial PPO patients would result in reduction of denials Increased UR nurse review against medical necessity criteria within 24 hrs of admission (including weekend admissions) would result in reduction of denials RCI Throughput - Patient Flow Scoping: Opportunity to improve throughput and patient flow by focusing on key success factors and tactics for delivering positive results specific to identifying the barriers and challenges along with listening to teams share common pitfalls and problems associated with LOS and throughput Integrating employee engagement tactics and building on foundation work further develops strong relationships with key stakeholders Identifying opportunities for quick wins will help to drive results forward and promote active team participation Competing priorities impacts engagement of key stakeholders Disengagement among physicians and other members of the care team Limited time to ensure culture change among key stakeholders, care teams, and frontline staff We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
