Job Description:
As a Traveling HVAC Technician, you will be the frontline support for HVAC emergencies in our 50+ stores across the country. Your role will consist of a combination of planned, preventative maintenance travel, emergency travel, and remote work based out of our warehouse in Smyrna, TN. You will work closely with our Manager of Facilities Maintenance to remotely diagnose issues with our current HVAC systems, design creative solutions to existing problems, and create precise and effective solutions for deployment in emergency situations.
Hours & Schedule:
Expected Weekly Hours: 42 - 47
Travel Expectations: Heavy (Between 50%-85%)
Expected Schedule:
Office: Monday - Friday
Pre-planned travel can include multiple locations back to back.
Emergency Travel: As needed, may include nights & weekends with extended hours
Oncall: Yes, 100%.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Collaborate with local HVAC companies and our team to develop robust and responsible preventative maintenance plans for all of our stores.
Keep a detailed record of all HVAC units across the company and an educated inventory list of what common parts we should stock in our warehouse.
Deploy with little notice to any of our stores for emergency repair involving HVAC, lighting, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Remotely diagnose HVAC systems and walk stores through repairs if and when possible.
Advise local stores and the Store Support team on safe practices.
Job Requirements:
Strong understanding of a wide range of HVAC systems.
Moderate experience with HVAC controls systems (thermostats, sensors, actuators
Moderate understanding of basic electricity, lighting and plumbing systems.
2+ years experience performing maintenance on HVAC systems.
1+ years of experience performing maintenance on plumbing.
1+ years of experience performing maintenance on electrical systems.
2+ years experience using handtools / power tools .
Moderate experience reviewing architectural plans (Permit Sets) including HVAC, Fire Sprinkler, Electrical, and Plumbing
Must be highly capable of problem solving and troubleshooting various systems including mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, in a hands on setting
Experience leading others in an informal structure
Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds individually
Able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate tight spaces for extended periods of time
Moderate experience with computers and basic software including Google Suite, Zoom, PDF editors
