Summary:

At Imperial, we sell, distribute, and service General Merchandise, Seasonal Products, and Health/Beauty/Wellness Products to our customers. As a 3 rd shift Conveyor Maintenance Technician, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of conveyor systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preventive maintenance of conveyor components, troubleshooting technical issues, performing restorative procedures, and responding to calls in a timely and efficient manner.

Overnight shift: M-F 9:00pm -5:30am Plus, rotating Sat 7am- 3:30pm with Fri night off before their Sat.

Pay: Up to $30/hr based on experience

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections of conveyor systems to identify potential faults and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency calls quickly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor components, including motors, gears, switches, and other electrical or mechanical parts.
  • Monitor conveyor operations closely, rectifying any issues promptly to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to cut back on incidents and accidents
  • Document maintenance activities and safety precautions on all equipment worked on.
  • Coordinate with other team members to solve complex mechanical or technical issues associated with the conveyor systems.
  • Operates in a safe and proficient manner a variety of tools and instrumentation, including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, voltage tester, ammeter, personal computer, etc. used in the performance of the job.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Maintain work order system (UpKeep CMMS) and assist in planning the activities for the maintenance team.
  • Write and Send end of shift email detailing what areas were worked on.
  • Learn the DC processes and hazards associated with the maintenance dept.
  • Assist the team members, when necessary, on breakdowns and when servicing equipment.
  • Drive Walkie rider/forklift/cherry picker.
  • Experience in Cutting and bonding of O-rings both in the shop and in place helpful but can train.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proven experience in conveyor maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, especially related to conveyor systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and prioritization skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
- Knowledge of standard safety procedures and regulations.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills – requiring able to use a log in and password and follow simple instructions.

Experience

  • Previous conveyor experience extremely helpful, six months’ minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
