Welding Solutions Specialist Laser Welders & Cobots Reports to: Executive VP of Sales

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The primary duty of the Welding Solutions Specialist is to: Serve, grow, enhance and protect Lampton business.
Its critical to build strong relationships with, and work very closely with, Lampton customers. Strong and consistent collaboration with the entire Lampton sales team and sales leadership is required. This hybrid role combines deep technical welding knowledge with a strategic sales focus, supporting customers in selecting, integrating, and optimizing laser welding systems and collaborative robots (cobots) for their manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with advanced welding processes and a passion for technology-driven solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary technical expert on laser welding technology and cobot automation in pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing customers, understanding their welding applications and proposing tailored solutions.
• Conduct on-site demonstrations, feasibility studies, and welding trials using our systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and integration partners to support system customization and deployment.
• Deliver product presentations, technical proposals, and ROI analyses to stakeholders at all levels.
• Train customer personnel on the safe and effective use of laser welders and cobots.
• Stay current on welding trends, standards, safety practices, and competitive products in the automation and laser welding space.
• Support trade shows, webinars, and marketing initiatives as a subject matter expert.
• Perform other tasks as assigned or needed.
• Adhere to all established procedures and policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 5+ years of experience in welding applications, preferably including laser welding, robotic welding, or cobot systems. Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, joint design, fixture design, and process control. Proven sales or customer-facing experience in a technical or industrial B2B environment is highly preferred. Experience with automation integration, robotic programming, or system commissioning is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel up to 50% for customer visits, trade shows, and training.
Preferred Certifications & Skills: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Educator (CWE), or similar credentials. Familiarity with FANUC, UR, or other collaborative robot platforms. Experience with laser welding systems such as IPG, Trumpf, or similar technologies Experience with AI concepts and AI tools, preferred
