Forklift Operator - D Crew Rotating Nights

GENERAL DUTIES:

· Must be able to perform current operational work standards

· Ability to drive Powered Industrial Forklift

· Keep core and hardwood stored by size and/or part codes.

· Loads trucks as needed for customer orders

· Pull and send manufacturing supplies to mill.

· Communicates with Process Lead or Team Lead if issues with core, hardwood, or customer orders.

· Knowledge of veneer grades.

· Maintain MDF core inventory accuracy.

· Maintain hardwood inventory accuracy.

· Pull shop for plant orders.

· Manages VMI inventory.

· Ability to flex to other roles as needed to help the flow of material through the Gluing process.

· Additional duties assigned.

SAFETY:

· Position must operate their Powered Industrial Forklift while moving a large volume of wood; the warning light and back-up alarm must be checked to ensure they are operational.

· PPE -Earplugs, safety glasses, and area appropriate gloves must be worn.

· Industrial forklift license course or truck license.

· Operates Powered Industrial Forklift in a safe manner paying attention to surroundings.

QUALITY:

· Ensure to send the proper material to the mill for orders.

· Ensure to load proper material on trucks to customers and mill.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Minimum computer skills. (ERP System)

· Powered Industrial Forklift license or license course.

· Position requires the ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work and make decisions involving the use of considerable ingenuity.

· Position requires regular work with lightweight materials and occasional work with average weight materials.

· Position must concentrate mental and visual attention while closely planning and laying out complete work.

These job duties could include various machine operators, handling material, grading material, quality checks, clean up, and other similar manufacturing activities.
