Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a creative and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on brainstorming and concepting within a 3D environment, particularly with conveyor and drawing assembly. The position involves experimental design, requiring familiarity with how equipment integrates and connects. The ideal candidate will leverage their 3D design experience to develop innovative solutions for facility layouts and equipment integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery.
  • Add capacity to sites, retrofit areas for new equipment, and rearrange existing equipment within facilities.
  • Figure out layouts of the site and create the scope of work for projects.
  • Write RFPs, work with vendors for site selection, and collaborate on engineering design before handing off to execution.
  • Conduct site visits, requiring up to 25% travel.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on design experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, with experience in areas such as automotive, warehouse systems, or manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing).
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial designs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Project management skills with a design focus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in upstream/downstream changes within systems engineering.
  • Ability to add capacity or retrofit inbound areas for new equipment.
  • Experience with automation and material handling systems.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
