A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As an Electrical Engineer you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware for high power RF systems. It is ideal but not necessary that you have experience in advanced product development for RF systems. You will participate in the development of new products and product enhancements. for our product portfolio. This will involve gathering specifications, to architecture, simulations, detailed design, component selection, layout, reliability prediction and test.

MKS Instruments Power Solutions products provide plasma generation and control solutions for semiconductor manufacturing processes.

You Make an Impact By:

  • Determine hardware compatibility and/or hardware design solutions

  • Support program and control algorithms for hardware enhancements, embedded controls and new product development

  • Analyze and determine system hardware test standards and procedures

  • Understand and negotiate breakdown of product specification to electrical subsystem or circuit board

  • Determine feasibility and conduct tradeoffs between performance, cost, reliability, and time to market

  • Conduct first article test on new subsystem or circuit board, validate specifications, support development of factor subsystem test development

  • Take ownership of assigned subsystems throughout the project life cycle

  • Collect and analyze data and implement proposed improvements

  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials during the design process

  • Write and approve Engineering change orders and Temporary deviation notices

  • Define system specifications, I/O, and other required documents

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience

  • 6 months of experience in circuit design

Preferred Skills:

  • 1+ years of MATLAB or other advanced data analysis software

  • 1+ years of Python or other programming language (Labview, C++, etc)

  • 1+ year of Spice, or other electrical simulation software

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical and software)

  • Ability to support multiple efforts simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment

Other:

  • Travel up to 5%

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Pay Range: $65,000 - $100,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
