Carpenter Helper

Position Overview**Assist carpenter in designing, constructing, installing and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood and wallboard, and cut, shape and fit lumber**Essential Job Functions**Assist in measuring and marking surfaces for cuts and shapes.Hold and supply tools, nails, glue or bolts to the carpenterPerform general clean-up of construction sites including removing debris and wastematerials.Help with the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures used in construction.Prepare the materials as directed by the carpenter, which might include sawing wood,building braces and mixing concrete.Operate power tools under the supervision of experienced carpenters.Assist with the installation of structures such as windows, doors, and buildingframework.Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use ofequipment.Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe and secure working environment.Responsibilities:Help experienced carpenters with their tasks.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Unload and carry materials to the worksite.Assist in setting up scaffolding or ladders.Cut wood and other materials.Hold planks, timber and other materials in place for carpenters.User power tools and machinery when needed.Follow instructions from carpenters and supervisors.
