Uplift MechanicA leading provider of communication and response products, located in the beautiful Flathead Valley, Montana, is looking to fill an Uplift Mechanic position. This company stands at the forefront of technological advancement, ensuring reliable, robust, and customized communication systems for clients worldwide.The Upfit Mechanic is instrumental in both supporting the upfitting of new customer builds and maintaining our internal fleet. This includes working on specialty vehicles outfitted with communications technology, power systems, and mission-specific upgrades.Why You Want This Position:Starting Wage: $24 to $34/hour, depending on experienceSchedule: Day Shift, Full-timeBenefits for eligible employees: Health insurance and 401(k) with a company match6 paid holidays (PTO is not used for holiday pay)3 weeks of PTO, available to use from day 1, and a quarterly incentive planEssential Functions and Duties:Perform mechanical installations and modifications for customer vehicle upfits, including lift kits, suspension systems, wheels/tires, and underbody protectionSupport maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for Nomad's internal demo fleetAssist with vehicle preparation and upfitting during active production cyclesFollow detailed work orders and direction from a Senior Mechanic, while proactively contributing to task completion and shop efficiencyEnsure all mechanical and upfit work aligns with Nomad's safety, durability, and performance standardsOperate hand and power tools, lifts, and shop equipment in a safe and effective mannerMaintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and any changes or issues encounteredSupport final quality inspections and assist with adjustments or finishing workQualifications:Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive or mechanical rolesTechnical training, certifications, or ASE credentials are a plusSolid understanding of vehicle systems including suspension, drivetrain, wheels/tires, and basic electrical componentsFamiliarity with custom builds, upfitting, fabrication, and specialty/commercial vehicle platformsBasic knowledge of welding, electrical systems, or fabrication techniques is a plusValid driver's license and clean driving record requiredAbility to lift/move up to 50 poundsGet in touch!
