Samaritan's Purse is seeking an individual to operate our heavy equipment on deployment sites. Based in North Wilkesboro, NC, you will be deployed to various disaster sites where you will work with our heavy equipment including but not limited to skid steers, excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks. This individual will work for the Heavy Equipment Team Manager and alongside our Site Leadership Team (SLT) and volunteers. A day in the life of a Heavy Equipment Operator:

In the role of Heavy Equipment Operator, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
- Maintain and operate heavy equipment, provide logistical support and project site instruction, while ensuring the safety and quality of all work.
- Ensure regular maintenance, repair and cleanliness of the department's heavy equipment fleet. This includes the warehouse, sheds, and garage areas. Ensure all safety protocols and expectations are met.
- Maintain the equipment in "response-ready" mode and ensure all work is recorded properly on the checklist and work orders.
- Travel to deployment sites and operate heaving equipment per all safety regulations.
- Be mindful that you will be in contact with Samaritan's Purse beneficiaries (children, young adults, adults at risk) and must be vigilant to promote and safeguard their welfare within the context of Samaritan's Purse operations.
- Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, volunteers, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public within the workplace, the community and before the general public.
- Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.
- Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as outlined in the Policy Manual.
