Commercial HVAC Chiller Technician Location: San Diego, CA Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commercial HVAC Chiller Technician to join our San Diego, CA team. This full-time position is ideal for a technician with a strong background in servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems-including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, screw and centrifugal units, rooftop units (RTUs), and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented professional with a solid local work history and exceptional diagnostic capabilities. Key Responsibilities Chiller Maintenance & Repair: Perform thorough inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of chillers, including air-cooled, water-cooled, screw, and centrifugal models. RTU Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair large rooftop units (RTUs) ranging from 20 to 200+ tons to ensure high-efficiency performance. Boiler & HVAC System Repairs: Maintain and repair commercial boilers and key components within integrated HVAC systems. VRF Systems Support: Service and optimize Variable Refrigerant Flow systems to ensure consistent and efficient performance. OEM-Specific Work: Utilize manufacturer-specific training and guidelines from Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, and Mitsubishi to perform precise system maintenance and repairs. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures on every job site to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. Client Interaction & Documentation: Provide professional, customer-focused communication and maintain accurate, detailed service records and reports. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial chillers and HVAC systems. EPA Universal Certification is required. Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing: Chillers (air- and water-cooled, screw, centrifugal) Large RTUs (20-200+ tons) Commercial boilers VRF systems Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage service calls efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturer training or certifications from Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or Mitsubishi. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and advanced HVAC control systems. Background in servicing high-demand, large-scale commercial or industrial HVAC environments. Why Join Us?
