Maintenance Electrician Job Description As a Maintenance Electrician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems. Your expertise in industrial electrical systems, including 480v and up, PLCs, VFDs, and automated systems, will be essential in ensuring smooth operations. You will be responsible for repairing and troubleshooting VFDs, PLCs, testing motors with associated controls, and diagnosing protective devices such as breakers, fuses, overloads, and control relays. The role requires experience with instrumentation or the willingness to learn these systems. Responsibilities Fill out and review work permits in conjunction with operation personnel prior to starting a job. Ensure all lockout-tagout procedures are followed. Locate equipment problems and discuss potential causes. Recommend practical solutions to technical problems. Diagnose problems and repair VFDs, PLCs, motors with associated controls, protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit & cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches, and metrology. Repair damages and defects to equipment as per technical instructions and discuss solutions. Consult additional technical information such as drawings and manuals if necessary. Perform planned preventive and predictive maintenance tasks within schedule. Participate in setting up and reviewing site SHE requirements, procedures, and instructions by engaging in the SHE culture on site. Essential Skills Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance of high voltage industrial electrical systems. Experience with wiring, repair, and preventive maintenance. Strong understanding of schematics, VFDs, motors, and 480v electrical troubleshooting. Experience with PLCs, mechanical, electronics, and installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of industrial electrical work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a multi-plant site that operates various technologies including fermentation house, spray drying and spray chill processes, beadleting processes, and vitamin granulations. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with required on-call duty every 10 weeks. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of BELVIDERE, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70720.00 - $79040.00/yr. opportunity to participate in DSM's comprehensive Health & Welfare benefits program offered to all eligible DSM US employees on your start date. You will receive a welcome package from the 401(k) vendor soon after joining DSM. Your pay and contributions are subject to plan and IRS limits as outlined in the Summary Plan Description. Your Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues on a pay period basis, with a maximum of 18 days per year, for the first five years of employment.
