Responsibilities

• Site Preparation : Assist in preparing job sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and organizing materials for excavation work.
• Excavation Support : Support the excavation crew by performing tasks such as digging trenches, moving soil, and handling materials for water, sewer, and storm line installations.
• Tool and Equipment Use : Operate basic hand tools (e.g., shovels, picks, rakes) and assist with the use of heavy machinery under supervision.
• Pipe Installation Assistance : Aid pipelayers and crew members in positioning and securing pipes, fittings, and other materials during installation.
• Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe work environment on job sites.
• Site Cleanup : Clean and maintain work areas, ensuring proper disposal of debris and organization of tools and materials.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with crew members and follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience : 0-1 year of experience in construction, excavation, or related fields; no prior experience required.
• Transportation : Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites, as most sites are local with occasional regional travel.
• Physical Fitness : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), working in trenches, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
