Senior Civil Engineer - Design the Future of Land Development Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary Range: $95,000 - $122,000 (DOE) Schedule: Monday-Friday, with flexible hours and optional half-day Fridays About the Role We're looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to serve as the central design lead on a collaborative and high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong land development experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys mentoring junior engineers while solving complex design challenges. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of grading, street improvements, and underground utilities for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Solve complex engineering problems and ensure designs meet agency standards and client expectations. Prepare technical reports and calculations (hydrology, hydraulics, sewer capacity, earthwork, water demand, etc.). Coordinate with agencies, surveyors, and construction teams to resolve discrepancies and support field operations. Supervise and mentor junior engineers, designers, and interns. Assist with proposals, schedules, and project extras. Provide construction support, including RFI responses and staking plans. Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design processes. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. 5-7 years of land development design experience. At least 2 years of experience independently solving complex engineering problems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or LDD. EIT certification required (PE preferred but not required). Strong background in grading design is a must. Additional Skills & Attributes Experience with residential, commercial, and urban infill projects. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage schedules, cost estimates, and technical documentation. Familiarity with stormwater management, drainage, and site planning. Work Environment & Culture Hybrid work model: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote. Flexible hours to accommodate personal needs (e.g., school pickups). Optional alternative work schedule: 9-hour days Monday-Thursday, half-day Fridays.
