Job Description
Finding the right fit:
Ayres is seeking a senior municipal water and/or wastewater engineer with a proven track record of technical design and managing and successfully executing various municipal utility projects. The successful candidate will have expertise in utility design, water/wastewater distribution and collection systems, and utility relocation projects, with experience in managing projects and clients, permitting, design, specification and contract preparation, and construction management.

On any given day, youll:
+ Take the lead in and work collaboratively to deliver projects for municipal governments.
+ Responsible for lead in technical design of municipal water and/or wastewater projects including distribution, pumping, storage, treatment, and process engineering
+ Manage projects, oversee design and production of plans and specifications and related regulatory submittals, and ensure that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres and requirements of the contract.
+ Build and maintain respectful working relationships with design team, PMs, and other leaders within the company.
+ Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
+ Actively engage in professional organizations to maintain and/or share technical knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
+ A bachelors degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
+ Registered professional engineer (PE) in Wisconsin or Minnesota.
+ 15+ years of experience in the field of municipal utility design and construction.
+ Ability to independently manage small to medium size projects.
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
+ A valid drivers license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
+ Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, especially in smaller communities.
+ Work with our team of 40+ employee-owners in Wisconsin and Minnesota to ensure the work is accurate, thorough, and aligns with the established standards while providing helpful feedback.
