WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be working in a world-class R&D facility with dedicated machine shop, testing lab, engineering and maintenance teams to collaborate with. You will work directly with internal stakeholders to analyze solutions based on appropriate specifications to meet stakeholders needs. You will work directly with the machine shop, additive lab, and the maintenance teams to help design and fulfill stakeholders requests.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a curious and self-driven Mechanical Engineer with CNC Machining and 3D printing experience to use their skills to create mechanical prototypes supporting new manufacturing process development. This role is hands-on and their experience with mechanical design, subtractive and additive manufacturing, and troubleshooting will be the foundation for the strategies you create to build new capabilities in our R&D setting. A track-record of self-directed learning, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving is essential.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or related field; or a combination of education, experience, and training.
- 2 or more years' experience in mechanical design, machine design, or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of basic engineering principles and ability to apply toward mechanical design and analysis
- Experience using CAD software is required.
- Ability to operate CNC mills, CNC routers, manual machine shop equipment, 3D printers (FDM), and measurement equipment is required.
- Experience with drafting part drawings and understanding dimensioning and tolerancings impact on manufacturability is required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively is required.
- Ability to manage multiple competing projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, turning their requirements into mechanical specifications and then fabricating concept into reality.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will work on multiple concurrent project requests and will actively seek to understand and interpret stakeholder objectives, translate them into project requirements, create CAD components and mechanical assemblies, and produce functional prototypes that meet the project requirements.
You will develop and document specifications with the stakeholders that meet required goals. You will use your CAD skills to generate 3D models and 2D drawings based on the specifications you have developed. You will use your subtractive and additive manufacturing skills to produce parts/assemblies and verify they meet design requirements.
