Construction Manager
Job Description

As a Construction Manager, you will provide onsite management for large-scale combustion turbine construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with environmental standards. Your role involves tracking project progress against schedules, reporting status to management and customers, and implementing processes in a timely, cost-effective, and environmentally conscious manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field personnel to oversee daily activities and ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable codes.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, investigate accidents, and communicate findings to management.
  • Monitor performance measurements and standards using quality control and assurance processes.
  • Communicate construction progress related to safety, production, risk, schedule, finance, and quality to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and equipment manufacturers, supporting site permitting, equipment selection, and project design.
  • Interface with local government and community relations, enforcing regulatory rules.
  • Supervise employees, develop project Punch Lists, and ensure completion, validate milestones for payment, and resolve field problems.
  • Continuously monitor construction quality through the installation QC process.
Essential Skills
  • 8 years of professional experience in construction-related positions.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Project management skills in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and building codes.
  • Financial skills including budget development and financial report interpretation.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs such as email, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with labor union management.
  • Knowledge of construction standards, work methods, equipment, maintenance practices, and materials.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, plans, profiles, and drawings.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in large electric construction, gas and electric operations, project management, or related fields.
Work Environment

This role supports improvements to gas turbines at a power plant in Neenah, WI. You will work during two 60-day outages from July to September 2025 and March to May 2026, with night shifts requiring 12-hour workdays, 7 days a week. Post-outage, you will transition to first shift for general plant support. The position involves complex lock-out/tag-out procedures and collaboration with GE, turbine experts, contractors, and plant personnel. A per diem is available for non-local individuals, and you will have the support of turbine SMEs and the PM. The environment fosters a strong safety culture, with occasional Sunday breaks during outages.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
