Brief Description

Welder Fabricators will perform set up, welding, and fabrication of parts necessary to the construction of custom automation equipment/systems based on the design and drawings of the Engineering Department.

Please note that since we are a small company, Welder Fabricators must also be willing to cut material for manufacturing whenever it is necessary.

Tasks

  • Read, understand, and work from blueprints
  • Weld/Fabricate parts as shown on prints
  • Ensure quality of all parts produced, clean spatter off workpiece and check welds
  • Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
  • Complete documentation as required
  • Must be able to operate a saw for cutting material

Maintenance and Housekeeping

  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and perform corrective adjustments
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping practices in work area (including daily clean up) and lead by example

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in both MIG and TIG welding
  • Able to use a guillotine shear and bender
  • Able to understand and align activities with department priorities and objectives
  • Able to work accurately and under the constraints of a deadline
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with a high regard for accuracy, attention to detail
  • Must be able to work from schematics and rough sketches to complete assignments
  • Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
  • Should be familiar with basic hand and power tools
  • Must exhibit objectivity and openness to others' ideas
  • Must be customer minded and have pride in task accomplishment
  • Must be willing to give an extra hand when needed

Work Experience Requirements

  • 2-4 years of welding and fabricating is required

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED- Trade Apprenticeship degree or similar level of competence proven by 2+ years of experience
