Location flexible. Hybrid set up, with periodic travel. Responsibilities & Qualifications
What Youll Do:
Lead planning and design efforts for sophisticated transit and rail facilities, including operations centers, storage yards, multimodal terminals, and support buildings.
Collaborate with senior architects, engineers, planners, and clients to develop integrated design solutions that reflect operational realities, sustainability goals, and user needs.
Apply advanced industrial engineering principles to optimize layouts, equipment configurations, material flows, staffing models, and system performance.
Translate complex operational requirements into practical, cost-effective, and buildable facility designs.
Guide the development of facility programs, design criteria, and schematic and detailed design documentation.
Drive project delivery, ensuring alignment across disciplines including civil, track, MEP, and systems engineering.
Engage clients, stakeholders, and end-users through charrettes, workshops, and technical presentations.
Support cost estimating, constructability reviews, phasing plans, and construction documentation.
What You Bring:
A degree in Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
10+ years of relevant experience in facility planning and designideally in Rail + Transit, aviation, or other complex infrastructure sectors.
A track record of success on multi-disciplinary, high-value capital projects.
Expertise in lean design, operations analysis, space utilization, and lifecycle performance optimization.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and simulation/modeling software.
Professional licensure (PE or RA) is highly desirable.
Ability to balance multiple priorities, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development is a strong asset.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $100,000- $165,000 annually for this position and local market.
