Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating work in concrete paving, roadway, bridge, and utility construction. Familiarity with DOT project requirements and HCSS software is highly preferred.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates

• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors

• Prepare complete bid packages and assist with proposal development

• Work closely with project managers and operations staff to align estimates with field capabilities

• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

• Maintain historical cost data and assist with budgeting efforts

• 3–7 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction

• Experience with DOT projects and public bid processes

• Proficiency with HCSS (HeavyBid) or similar estimating software

• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
