Job Description:
A Utility Project Engineer Jr. (Junior Utility Project Engineer) is typically an entry-level position in the field of engineering within a utility company.
Assist in the planning, design, and execution of utility projects, such as infrastructure upgrades or new installations.
Assisting in the planning and design of utility projects, including conducting site visits and surveys.
Assisting in the preparation of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, such as contractors, regulatory agencies, and customers.
Assisting in the procurement of materials and equipment for projects.
Monitoring project progress and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Assisting in the preparation of project reports and documentation.
Providing support to senior engineers and project managers as needed.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in utility engineering.
Participating in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Work with industry professionals on utility infrastructure projects.
Utilize records and GIS system to locate and utilize maps.
Review engineering plans, perform analysis, identify conflicts.
Prepare engineering reply letters, plan mark ups, lists, and other documents.
Propose cost savings though conflict avoidance.
Maintain and update project database and records.
Propose design changes to eliminate conflicts.
Create cost estimates.
Support project managers and department in project execution.
Field visits may be required. Reliable transportation required.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
