- Lead the electrical engineering aspects of the Norwalk Walk Bridge replacement, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Design, review, and coordinate electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems for bridge operations.
- Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
- Work closely with contractors and vendors to oversee electrical installations, testing, and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including schematics, technical drawings, and progress reports.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to electrical engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction and operation phases.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in infrastructure, transportation, or bridge projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PLC systems, and electrical design software.
- Strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and other industry regulations.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with moveable bridge electrical systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and automation technologies.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Construction / Engineering experience.
- Electrical / Railroad experience preferred.
- Previous work on CTDOT Projects a plus.
The role is based at the CT Walk Bridge, involving collaboration with a diverse team, including project managers, assistant project managers, superintendents, and other engineers. The environment requires computer proficiency and may involve working on-site with the team to ensure the successful execution of electrical aspects in bridge construction and infrastructure upgrades.
