Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to the Norwalk Walk Bridge Project in Connecticut. This role involves overseeing electrical design, installation, and integration for the replacement of the iconic moveable bridge. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical engineering, project coordination, and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering aspects of the Norwalk Walk Bridge replacement, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Design, review, and coordinate electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems for bridge operations.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Work closely with contractors and vendors to oversee electrical installations, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including schematics, technical drawings, and progress reports.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to electrical engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction and operation phases.

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in infrastructure, transportation, or bridge projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PLC systems, and electrical design software.
• Strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and other industry regulations.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with moveable bridge electrical systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and automation technologies.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Construction / Engineering experience.
• Electrical / Railroad experience preferred.
• Previous work on CTDOT Projects a plus.

The role is based at the CT Walk Bridge, involving collaboration with a diverse team, including project managers, assistant project managers, superintendents, and other engineers. The environment requires computer proficiency and may involve working on-site with the team to ensure the successful execution of electrical aspects in bridge construction and infrastructure upgrades.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
