We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of two concurrent interior build-out projects as part of our growing Design/Build interiors team . This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role ideal for a project manager who thrives in dynamic environments, balances multiple stakeholders, and is highly organized and detail-oriented.
In this role, you will oversee:
A 40,000 SF interior build-out for a manufacturing facility in the northwest suburbs, characterized by low design complexity but full MEP scope and a fast-track, 10-month schedule .
A high-end corporate office interior fit-out in downtown Chicago with mid- to high-design features , also on a 10-month schedule .
You will coordinate with clients, internal teams, designers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Lead the design/build process including early programming, budgeting, and design coordination.
Oversee MEP coordination , procurement, schedules, and subcontractor management.
Manage multiple project timelines concurrently , ensuring each stays on track with milestone deliverables.
Lead weekly OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings , issue meeting minutes, and manage action items.
Partner closely with design and construction teams to resolve field issues , maintain scope alignment, and drive construction progress.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols , building codes , and quality standards .
Manage project budgets, review pay applications, and track costs in collaboration with accounting.
Deliver project closeout documentation , punchlist completion, and turnover to the client.
Qualifications
510 years of experience in commercial interior construction project management, preferably in a design/build environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex commercial interiors projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of MEP systems , construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
Experience with manufacturing environments and/or high-design office interiors is strongly preferred.
Proficient in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or equivalent).
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
