Civil Project Manager/Estimator

We are seeking a Civil Project Manager/Estimator to oversee the daily operations of commercial projects, manage field teams, and produce timely estimates for prospective civil projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Review contracts regarding price and scope of work.
- Write contracts for sub-contractors.
- Purchase and track materials.
- Handle submittals.
- Pre-plan projects (project manual, pre-construction meetings, foreman's manuals, buy-out of equipment and materials, permits).
- Schedule projects, manpower, material delivery, and sub-contractors.
- Manage project billing.
- Interpret construction contracts/subcontracts, contract drawings, and specifications.
- Negotiate change orders.
- Interpret and schedule warranties.
- Coordinate project close-out.
- Communicate with the general project manager or project owner/owner's representative, if applicable.
- Communicate with the project engineer.
- Prepare operation and maintenance manuals.
- Review and approve time entries.
- Update monthly man-hours report.
- Monitor job site equipment rental.
- Provide customer service and development.
- Maintain and develop relationships with customers (owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers).
Estimator:
- Use estimating skills as directed and scheduled by management, collaborating with the design/build team to produce accurate budgets based on written narratives using our current estimating software.
- Request vendor and subcontractor participation on estimated projects, in accordance with company policies or management direction.
- Interface with Operations and Project managers, providing estimate turnover information to execute awarded projects.
- Manage and track win/loss rates of bids submitted.
- Support project managers with pricing of change orders and other project change directives.
- Input accounting data for setting up project estimates for job tracking cost codes, performance, and accounting needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Field experience as a foreman/superintendent or experience as a PM or estimator in civil construction or a similar industry.
- Technical skills and ability to quickly learn new software, including accounting programs.
- Administrative skills to identify business concerns and develop appropriate responses, actions, and strategies for company success.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ethical and professional interaction with customers and employees.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for building relationships and negotiating.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet deadlines while working independently or as part of a team.
