Job title: Assistant Project Manager

The Assistant Project Manager plays a critical support role within the project management team, working closely with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure seamless project execution from development through completion. The APM I will coordinate activities across engineering, estimating, procurement, project controls, and construction, while actively managing deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communication. At B&S the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for managing and reporting the progress of their projects to the leadership of the organization regularly. Support the Project Manager in coordinating project development and execution activities, including engineering, estimating, procurement, project controls, and construction. Interacting and supporting site Superintendents on each project to provide on-time and on-budget outcomes is also a necessity for successful project management at B&S. Being highly organized, communicative, and financially knowledgeable are critical traits to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to project status reports, schedule updates, and financial reviews for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs) using QISG’s document management system
  • Ensure high quality across technical, commercial, and administrative project deliverables through continuous review and feedback
  • Assist in the procurement and management of purchase orders and subcontract agreements
  • Track the progress of each project assigned to ensure completion of key milestones, financial performance, and client reporting deliverables
  • Maintain project budgets in a effective and timely manner
  • Manage any direct reports through goal setting, ensuring quality outcomes, providing opportunities for growth, and coaching/training
  • Support the field personnel on assigned projects, primarily the site Superintendent and Foreman
  • Comply with company standards, policies, and procedures, at all times
  • Support project close-out, warranty processes, and post-construction analysis, including cost reviews and lessons learned
  • May serve as acting Project Manager in the PM’s absence (when deemed qualified by the PM or Director of PM’s)

Qualifications:

  • Due to the nature of the role, we encourage candidates to be based in PA . Relocation assistance is not available at this time.
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines required
  • Organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including MS Office, Bluebeam, Procore, etc.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills
  • Firm understanding of complex mathematical concepts
  • Solid understanding of project design process and integrated EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) delivery, required
  • Familiarity with construction methods and industry best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • OSHA 30, required
  • 2+ years of project engineering or management experience, or combination of, in Civil Construction field or similar market.
