The Town of Wellesley's Facilities Management Department (FMD) has an immediate opening for a Project Manager . The ideal candidate will have significant project management experience, preferably on building projects in the public sector, and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently. This role is an opportunity to join a well-respected and creative team as they help the Town navigate through an engaging and exciting design and construction period. The Project Manager reports to the Design & Construction Manager and works on all aspects of project management, from project inception at the feasibility study phase through design and construction. The majority of the incumbent's responsibility will be to manage cash capital building projects; however, the Project Manager will also have certain operational duties including environmental health & safety, regulatory, accessibility and safety/security alarm system. The incumbent is tasked with delivering the highest quality construction on time and on budget, inclusive of programmatic needs, systems and materials maintainability and sustainability goals. On larger projects overseen by the Town's Permanent Building Committee, the incumbent may assist the Senior Project Managers assigned to such projects. Strong job performance may lead to advancement opportunities into the major capital projects group as the opportunities arise. The incumbent must possess strong organizational skills, be a decisive and effective communicator, and have the ability to prioritize and multitask. The Project Manager will contribute to a dynamic team who collaborates to provide both micro detail and macro project oversight. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. Seven to ten years' experience managing building projects, with work in the public sector preferred. Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCCPO) certification for Design and Construction Contracting preferred. Expected Salary Hiring Range: $95,683 to $112,427, DOQ.
