Project Manager – Heavy Civil & Marine Construction

A nationally recognized general contractor with more than a century of success in heavy civil and marine construction is seeking a talented Project Manager to join their team. This firm specializes in complex infrastructure projects such as bridges, dredging, environmental restoration, wetlands remediation, dams, piers, and docks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of project delivery—budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and execution
  • Review contract documents and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers; prepare scopes of work and cost breakdowns
  • Track and process change orders; coordinate RFQs and evaluate pricing for fairness
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Supervise project engineers and support staff; provide mentorship and performance guidance
  • Collaborate with field teams to address claims, manage risks, and resolve jobsite issues
  • Oversee procurement, equipment logistics, and timely material delivery

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil or marine construction projects
  • Deep understanding of project management tools and processes (cost control, scheduling, procurement, estimating)
  • Strong working knowledge of construction principles, contracts, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
