Job Description We are seeking a talented Tooling Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and testing paper plate and tray thermoforming tooling. The role is based in our brand new facility located in Marion, IN, and offers an exciting opportunity to work with a worldwide leader in paper converting machinery. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed tooling and die design and documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to tooling designs.
- Create, update, and maintain forming die and cutting die bill of materials.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams.
- Conduct and participate in internal design reviews.
- Effectively communicate design and project information with manufacturing groups.
- 2-5 years of mechanical design experience with steel products, preferably mold or die design.
- Strong understanding of complex geometry and surfacing design, including GD&T.
- 2+ years of experience with Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, or Solidedge.
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Materials) management.
- 2-5 years of experience in tooling, die, and fixture design.
- ERP/MRP systems knowledge.
- Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills.
