FIELD SUPERVISOR

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

JOB SUMMARY

The Boelter Companies, a supplier of commercial kitchen equipment, is seeking a Construction Field Manager to support the sale and installation of commercial foodservice equipment projects for public and privately funded projects. Customers will include architects, general contractors, and a variety of foodservice operators in the Midwest market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Support Boelter Project Managers
  • Assist in reviewing scope of work, plans and specs for current and upcoming projects.
  • Help determine labor requirements on projects
  • Attend kick off and other construction meetings.
  • Review GC construction schedule to identify key milestones.
  • Assess and relay site conditions and site readiness to PM’s and Installers.
  • Perform field measurements, plumbing check, electrical checks, verify mechanical are roughed in.
  • Provide field reports w/pictures as necessary
  • Assist in coordinating deliveries from Boelter warehouse to jobsite.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries on the jobsite.
  • Oversee installation and provide daily communication with installers, GC’s and project managers during installation of a project.
  • Provide technical assistance by interpreting blueprints, recommending work process and understanding product installation instructions.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed per the plans and specifications to include proper utility connections
  • Work with Inspectors & Fire Marshalls to get approvals and Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Create punch list for installers to review.
  • Troubleshoots onsite obstacles/problems
  • Act as the Boelter representative while communicating with General Contractors, Subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Attend corporate events, internal meetings, conferences, and training as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers, vendors, and other trades
  • Self-Motivated – ability to work independently, take the lead on problem solving, planning tasks, and proactively managing project responsibilities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree or one to three years of related experience. Previous experience within the construction industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoQuotes and HubSpot . Must have high level of interpersonal skills and continually demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be comfortable with jobsite conditions and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to travel to different jobsites within our market. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (10 lbs.), and an ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
